talk_2011_heiner_loellmannDigital filter-banks are an essential component of many signal processing algorithms, which are nowadays employed in a variety of ubiquitous devices. The filter-bank design has a significant influellce on the performance of such algorithms with regard to their computational complexity, signal quality and delay. In this talk, novel design approaches for differennt kinds of allpass-based analysis-synthesis filter-banks are devised. A substantial benefit of such recursive filter-banks is that they can achieve a high frequency selectivity and/or a non-uniform time-frequeny resolution with a low signal delay.
